God Is Love

Our God loves us, my friends. He wakes us up each morning and if we allow him, gives us directions for the day. I often tell myself, “Get off the treadmill.” With a treadmill, you don’t have to continue to put your feet on a pedal to keep it going as with other moving devices. Once you turn it on , it keeps going and going nonstop until you shut it down. Treadmills come in different kinds—busyness of the day-to-day physical activities; the constant focus on ideas and intellectual pursuits or a combination of both. I have been guilty of all these. (Listen, there are also those who spend most of their time in front of the television or some tech device or wallowing in some destructive behavior.) So, I began to speak to my soul on those frantic treadmill days and say, “Be still, my soul and rest in God.” When you begin to struggle, my friends, do not compromise or allow the enemy to “get into your head with negative thoughts.” For every time and every season, the Lord is here to meet all of your and my needs.

Even in the midst of hits and misses—stumbles and the falls, God is there to affectionately help us get aright again. At those times, it’s like Heavenly Father is lovingly smiling while Jesus opens wide his arms to embrace us and Holy Spirit nudges us down the right path to restoration.

Right now, you maybe experiencing a tragic loss, a devastating sickness, a betrayal, or a financial setback—be encouraged. We can stand on that solid foundation, Jesus Christ. People may fail you, but Jesus will never fail you.

Be encouraged and be blessed.

Here are some scriptures on God’ love. Meditate on them:

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

John 15:3 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Romans 5:8 God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

1 John 4:16 So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

Jeremiah 31:3 You are forgiven of your sin; you are declared to be righteous; you are an adopted child of the Lord God; you are the apple of His eye; you are loved with an everlasting love, and you can count on the faithfulness of God being shown to you forevermore! Praise be to God!
