Fighting the Good Fight

In these times of peril, pandemic distress and economic uncertainty, I just want to give you some words of comfort and support from scripture. When Jesus ascended to Heaven after making the ultimate sacrifice for our salvation and eternal life, he left the Holy Spirit, our Comforter, our Advocate with us. The Spirit of God teaches us all things, in the name of Jesus. (John 14:26) He imparts his fruit—love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness faithfulness—to us. (Galatians 5:22)

Even on the day of Pentecost, when the desolate disciples were so distraught, the Holy Spirit demonstrated the victory of Christ’s resurrection by descending upon them like tongues of fire. (Acts 2:3) Holy Spirit filled them and they began to speak in other tongues as evidence of his indwelling.

This same Holy Spirit anoints us with gifts—He equips us with what we need to do battle against the forces of darkness and to fulfill kingdom purposes here on the earth.

Walk in the Spirit and allow Him full reign in your life so that you can walk out that victory that has already been won by our Resurrected Savior, Jesus.

Meditate on these scripture verses:

(Romans 8:28) And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11) For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you future and a hope.

(Philippians 4:13) I can do all things through him who strengthens.

(Psalm 23:4) Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

(John 10:10) The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

(2 Timothy 1:7) For God gave us a spirit not of f ear but of power and love and self-control.

(1 Peter 5:7) Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

(Romans 8:31) What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

Beloved—and you are the beloved of our Christ Jesus, I just want you to encourage you to continue the good fight because God is still on the throne.

Be blessed.
